New collaboration between PNO and TARPREC
New collaboration between PNO and TARPREC
PNO has recently entered in a partnership with TARPREC, a Danish startup specialized in re- & upcycling of curtains from the transportation industry.
The cooperation is part of the broader strategy leading to a more sustainable business model undertaken by PNO in 2018. Being consistent with PNO’s focus on People, Planet and Profit, the partnership is thus expected to benefit both companies as well as the environment.
Tarprec is specialised on re- and up-cycling soft PVC material. It primarily collects old truck prints and similar material from its partners’ premises to then export them to collaborators, where they’re used to manufacture different products, such backs, purses, computer sleeves, but also bags used to harvest beans and fruits in Africa.
In Denmark, waste facilities have problems in disposing PVC as during the incineration process it releases substances and deposits that are extremely harmful for the environment. Since it can be costly and time-consuming for transportation companies to sort and remove PVC in an ethical and responsible way, Tarprec helps them providing all the administrative, logistics and production work.
PNO has already made a first move making curtains available for collection in its premises in Horsens and is planning to extend the collaboration with Tarprec to the other facilities in Sweden, Norway, Finland & the Netherlands.
