A New CO2 Neutral PNO Office

PNO Netherlands is moving into brand new facilities built with the purpose of minimizing the environmental footprint.

At PNO we are constantly looking for ways to minimize our own environmental impact. During the last years, we have established solar panels on our buildings and switched to renewable energy at the offices where panels were not an option. Isolation and heat sources have been upgraded, and an electrical (only) company car policy has been introduced. We do monthly energy consumption monitoring to measure the impact of our changes and we are constantly looking for ways to improve further. The latest improvement is a major step in this process: a carbon-neutral office.

AN OFFICE THAT REFLECTS OUR VALUES

PNO Netherlands has been located in Venlo since it was established in 2018. The team has since grown from one person to four people and it was time to find a new and bigger office space. Sustainability was a key factor in the process and the team succeeded in finding the perfect solution in a development project in Grubbenvorst.

PNO is focused on making the transport industry more sustainable and our requirements for the new office reflected these values.

When we were offered a space in a new CO2 neutral building, constructed to minimize energy consumption, we knew we found the right place.

The working space will be a daily reminder of PNO’s purpose to Lead the transition to sustainable freight and a great motivation for our team in their work towards fulfilling it.

– Martijn van Rijswijck, Country Director at PNO Netherlands

SELF-POWERED BUILDING

The new building is equipped with multiple technological solutions that both decrease its CO2 footprint and provide renewable energy sources. All windows are triple layered, the temperature is controlled by heat pumps, while the roof is covered with solar panels. Together, these instalments secure a CO2 neutral facility, as more power than needed will be produced.
