PNO Finland’s first local community project
PNO Finland’s first local community project
At the end of May, PNO Finnish team organized a waste collection day in the center of Nikkilä, in collaboration with the municipality of Sipoo.
Last year all PNO’s branches pledged to engage in projects helping the local communities at least twice per year. Following PNO’s Swedish and Dutch teams, now it’s the turn of PNO Finland. On Friday 31st of May, 10 PNO employees spent the day collecting construction waste from the backyard of an old hardware store which has now ceased its activity. Three skid platforms have been filled with waste, which has then been sorted into wood, metal and other materials for recycling.
On top of that, some employees unexpectedly found materials they can up-cycle in different ways, such as paving stones to decorate their homes.
The municipality of Sipoo was very satisfied with the work done and will continue collaborating with PNO in organizing similar projects in the future.
“In light of the success of this first local initiative, our team has already planned to repeat the event this year and will strive to get more local companies on-board” – Jesse Suominen, Key Account Manager & Green Ambassador, PNO Finland.
